Hello, Little Indian Parents / Guardians!

We need you!  We are working to form the 2024-2025 Simpson Elementary Local School Improvement Council (otherwise known as the LSIC). What is the LSIC?  The West Virginia Department of Education has provided plenty of information here - https://wvde.us/accountability/local-school-improvement-council-lsic/.  But, in simple terms, the LSIC is a group of school officials, teachers, service staff, at-large community members, and PARENTS.

The LSIC will meet four times over the course of the year to discuss such matters as school operations, ideas for improvement, academic and discipline information, curriculum, etc. By policy, we must ELECT three parents at our first meeting on Wednesday, September 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Could you help us?  Let us know if you can make it to our meeting by emailing Todd Rubenstein at todd.rubenstein@k12.wv.us or Jeovanna Comer at jlacaria@k12.wv.us.

We know we can count of you!

Attendance Matters

Please ensure your children are on time, prepared, and have consistent attendance. If your child must be absent due to illness, please ensure all notes (up to five per semester) are turned in no later than 3 days to be excused.

Dismissal Schedule

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through our extended day. Overall, the dismissal schedule is coming together, with minimal tweaks.

We do ask that you continue to be cognizant of student safety. Staff members will not release any child until they make meaningful contact with the parent / guardian.

Away For The Day

Cellphones - “Away for the Day”

All students attending Simpson must adhere to the policy on cellphone use.

  • Students will not utilize or display a communication device during the school day. Devices must remain off on school busses.

  • Communication devices will be stored in lockers / bookbags and must remain off.

Special Offer: Get 10% off your purchase if you order by September 30.

Important Details:

  • The 2 custom pages are free and are printed ONLY in your book. Want more pages? Each additional 2 pages costs just $1.99.

  • To purchase and customize your yearbook:

    1. Go to www.treering.com/validate.

Photos: We need help from ALL parents to fill the yearbook with photos from the school year. Share your photos by uploading photos into your TreeRing account. Select the photos you want to share and click “Share With School” (otherwise, your photos are private and visible only to you). The sooner after an event you upload photos, the more likely they are to be used in the yearbook. Please share photos from school related events and activities only – parties, field trips, events & classroom activities. Each event and grade level has its own folder on TreeRing. Sorting is appreciated, but not required. Captions are also not needed. We are collecting photos now for:

  • Pool Party

  • Open House

  • First Day of School

Custom Pages: You can use your photos to create customized yearbook pages, which print ONLY in your student’s book. Your first two pages are completely FREE, and after that cost only $1.99 for every two. This is a great clutter-free way to save artwork, writing, pictures from family events, sports, extracurriculars, and school memories. Custom pages are most easily created from the TreeRing website on a computer. We know that TreeRing can be confusing at times, so please reach out to us for help and we will be happy to guide you through! Email simpsonelempta@gmail.com, or message our Facebook page.
